Implications of IT for Education

(for parents, teachers, and students)

Being a teacher is hard.  Not only do you have to teach (and in many cases design) your entire curriculum to a large number of diverse students, but you also have to manage students, accomplish administrative tasks, keep parents informed, and of course, stay up to date on grades and paperwork.

This can be an enormous challenge, especially given the ever-increasing demand on teachers for improving test scores and achieving success with dwindling resources.

So where does Instructional Technology fit into this picture?  The goal of instructional technology and instructional designers is to create the best-quality instruction that educators can use.  By helping teachers with the creation of their curriculum, instructional designers can give teachers more time to focus on what they really love: teaching!

The work of instructional designers also ensures that students are receiving a quality education, using the latest ideas in educational research, regardless of the qualifications of their teacher.  Besides, having time to keep up with research is a challenging task on top of all the other work teachers already have to do, so that’s why we do it for them!

With instructional designers taking care of your classroom design needs, you can rest assured that little Timmy and Jenny are getting the best education around!
